I’ve watched pictures of dreams unfold on screens in the palm of my hand
While still sleeping on the floor
I’ve decided my genes aren’t fit to be seen by another grammar school
So I’ve taken it upon myself to only love the mirror and the wind
And I’d love to stay this way
I could run off any day
But don’t, I could never ask for more, it shall come to pass in the morning
I woke up in a field and turned my head to see her sitting alone
Wavering in the breeze
I took hold of her hand, against my better judgment, am I dreaming?
No, the air smells fresher here, and she leads me through a thousand breaths
And I’d love to stay this way
I could run off any day
But don’t, I could never ask for more, it shall come to pass in the morning
On our 40th night, I turned out the light, and whispered in the dark
“I wonder who we are”
Without an idea, we held ourselves close and I saw her eyes
She’s real, but then I opened mine
And I’ll be damned if I can find another one
And I’d love to stay this way
I could run off any day
But don’t, I could never ask for more, it shall come to pass in the morning
